Max Updates

~Donate to Help Max~

This Donate button has been specially created for Max

Until Max heals completely he can not be around other animals in the shelter. So we have opted to bring him into one of our homes tohelp monitor him. We can not run the risk of his little nose getting bump by another dog or anything. He is too fragile at this time. Even though our schedules do not permit due to being gone too much, but we had no other place to keep him safe (foster homes are full). Be assured he is being checked in on when we're gone. We are praying for total healing for him. :)

Below we will try to keep his progress updated for you...

January 23, 2012 - Went to visit Max; he seemed in good spirits. Talked with the doctor on duty and he allowed Max to come home today; providing that I bring him in each day for his antibiotics and pain shots.

He is a little restless; he keeps getting up and moving from spot to spot trying to get comfortable; I'm sad for him. Coming into a new place while having a serious injury and not being able to run and play - yeah, I'd be restless too. I am hoping that soon he will get accustom.

Got to have him back at the vet in the morning for his meds. Currently he needs morning and evening shots. So twice to the vet daily - he is probably going to hate riding in my car before too long. :(

Thanks for your prayers for Max! We both appreciate them. Please continue...

January 24, 2012 - Took Max in for his daily antibiotic  and pain shots. Dr. Clark and Dr. Eddie said they were so pleased at what they are seeing. Max looks a million times better than they could ever dream for at this stage in his healing. Yay God! His being out of the hospital over night seemed to lift his little spirit and helps continue building him up in his process.

However, Dr. Clark assured me that Max is not completely out of the woods, but from what he is witnessing the hope levels on his surviving this has risen. :) Again - Thank You so much for your prayers for Max - God is answering.

They sent home antibiotic drops and a pain med that I am to give in his foods(gravy) twice daily. Hoping that this will work for him; the trip into the office every day would be a lot, not to mention that just one visit for his shots was valued at $94 alone. Yikes! That's over $200 a day counting the gas back and forth. So yes - lets pray this home version works. If it doesn't then it's back to taking him in twice a day.

Dr. Clark says this will be a long term thing [I am trusting God for different]. Max's doctor says we're looking at 6 months to a year of seeing him out of the woods.

Without the Specialist being involved; we will not know if his blood vessels are lining up to get blood flow back into his nose area. If the blood does not get flowing there that part of his jaw and nose will start to die away. Then he will be in some serious trouble. So again - trusting God will provide away for Max to see this Specialist; and if not to just line up the blood vessels the way He created them.

Thanks again for your prayers and support.

January 30, 2012 - Today marks one week of Max being here with me. Being a full time student and a foster mom to a hurt little boy is stressing.

How do you mom's do this - all the time?

However, his being here with me is important, mainly because I have no other dogs that may want to get playful with him. Thus, making sure that no one or nothing bumps his little nose area; very important.

I think he is totally bored living with someone who when they do come home, they do nothing but read, sleep (which is very little), or stays on their computer. Not an exciting life style here folks. LOL But hey... hopefully he is adjusting.
